How is damage assigned when Cannon Barrage is played during a Combat Showdown?

You cannot React to the move itself, but you can play Cannon Barrage during the Combat Showdown. It resolves and deals 2 to everything in combat. Once the Showdown ends, you move to the combat damage step, where units assign their Might as damage and all assigned damage is dealt simultaneously.
