How does Bone Skewer interact with Baron Nashor in hand?

Baron Nashor's abilities are not in effect while it is in hand, so it can be chosen. To finalize Bone Skewer you only pick a battlefield; Baron is played to that battlefield on resolution. "Choose" in Baron's text means target, and selecting a unit from hand on resolution is not targeting.
