Diana's trigger resolves even if she leaves the board because it does not reference her. However, paying 1 is part of the effect, not a separate cost before the chain — if Gust removes her before you pay, the ability may not fully resolve. You do not conquer or score if you have no units left at the battlefield when the Showdown closes.
