What happens when Vilemaw Ambushes into unfavorable combat?

I have three units (6, 6, and 4 Might) and my opponent follows with a 2-Might unit then Ambushes Vilemaw (8 Might). What happens in the showdown — do my attackers recall because they cannot assign enough damage?
