Does Trusty Warhound die when the Recruit it buffs dies in combat?

It likely survives. When the Recruit dies, Warhound loses its bonus after the lethal-damage check step but before the next cleanup. Combat cleanup then heals all units, so it no longer has lethal damage marked.
