Can Fizz replay Thwonk with Repeat if the total cost exceeds 3 energy?

If I use Fizz to replay Thwonk! from my trash and pay for Repeat, the total cost becomes the original cost plus the repeat cost — for Thwonk that would be 4 energy, outside Fizz's 3-energy limit. Can Fizz still replay Thwonk with Repeat in that case?
