Can Deathknell keep control so I can react with hidden Here to Help after Ruination?

I have Ferrous Forerunner at a battlefield and my opponent plays Ruination. Can I let Ferrous die to its Deathknell, then react from hidden with Here to Help and play another unit to keep control of the battlefield?
