If Star Crossed sends Sona to hand, does her rune-readying trigger still resolve?

Star Crossed targets Sona, and before it resolves, her ability that readies runes has already triggered and gone on the chain. If Star Crossed then resolves and returns Sona to hand, does the pending rune-readying trigger get negated because Sona is no longer around, or does it still resolve normally?
