Can I Ambush into a battlefield during a showdown I don't control yet?

My unit is entering an opponent's battlefield after a showdown started. Can I Ambush a unit into that battlefield, or can Ambush only go to battlefields I already control?

You do not need to control a battlefield to Ambush into it as long as you have other units there by the time you play it.
