Does moving back into a battlefield you held earlier count as a conquer?

No. You can only conquer battlefields you have not already scored that turn. You scored that battlefield by holding at the start of the turn, so you cannot conquer it again and conquer effects do not trigger. Moving into the empty battlefield still starts a showdown.
