Do I score a point when my opponent attacks my defending unit on their turn and loses the combat?

You do win that combat, which matters for any cards with effects tied to winning or losing combat, but winning a defensive combat does not by itself award you a scoring point. Scoring for a battlefield happens through the normal scoring step, not as a direct result of a combat outcome, so nothing happens on the scoring side just because you won the fight.
