Does Rebuke mistarget if Ambush pulls the target back to base?

I attack unit A at Star Spring. My opponent plays Rebuke to bounce it, but I Ambush a unit there and pull A back to base. Does Rebuke resolve to no effect?

Yes. Rebuke resolves to no effect because the target is no longer at a battlefield.
