During an open showdown, my opponent applied contested to the battlefield first and I later surprise defend with Rengar. Who is attacking in the ensuing combat, and do defender-only battlefield effects like Ravenbloom Conservatory proc for me?
My opponent starts an open showdown at Ravenbloom Conservatory. I react with Rengar, Trophy Hunter. Do I trigger the battlefield's effect? Someone said it does not trigger because the effect refers to the controller and I am not controller yet.
A player asked how the word "you" works on battlefield text when a surprise defender moves in but does not control the battlefield yet. When a battlefield ability says "you," does it refer to the defending player or the battlefield's controller?
My opponent controls a battlefield with a unit and I move in with Diana, starting a showdown where I am attacker. Do Diana and Ravenbloom Conservatory trigger at the same time, or does Diana always trigger first — even before attacker and defender triggers?
