Can you reveal hidden Evelynn and Edge of Night during an attack?

Two hidden-card scenarios: 1) I play Evelynn hidden and pass. My opponent attacks with higher Might. Is Evelynn revealed and does her Might join the showdown even though her ability would not trigger? 2) I play Edge of Night hidden and pass. My opponent attacks. Can I reveal Edge of Night, and must I pay to equip it?

Does hidden Edge of Night still require an equip cost, and where can it be hidden?

If I play Edge of Night hidden face up, do I still need to pay 1 rune to attach it to a unit? Since it is gear, do I need to hide it in base or can I hide it at a battlefield?
